Library Services

The library services of ALOGHAR are basically divided into three major components: Reading Books, Lending Books and Reading Newspaper.

Reading Books: For reading books, there are nearly 10,219 books in the collection of ALOGHAR libraries. There are different types of books in the collection of ALOGHAR like: Literature, Travel, Research, Academic, Entertainment books etc. in Bengali, English and other languages as well. The members have access to read these books at ALOGHAR. It is still enriching its collection from different countries and sources.

Lending Books: ALOGHAR does not require any fee or service charge to become a member and borrowing books or journals from the library. A member of ALOGHAR can borrow one book for a week. The member is responsible to return the book in due time. At present 5,005 persons are enrolled as Aloghar Member. The book lending service is maintained by a Library Management Software developed by ALOGHAR.

Reading Newspaper: Newspaper articles can provide incredible detail about culture, politics, economics, literature, international affairs etc. whether anyone looking for his country’s history or researching a particular character from history. Considering the peoples’ choice, ALOGHAR started collecting daily and weekly newspapers and magazines since its establishment. At present ALOGHAR is collecting 18 leading daily newspapers, weekly and monthly magazines, journals etc. both of Bangla and English. The community people always gather at ALOGHAR from morning till evening for reading these newspapers in free of cost. All of these newspapers, after one day will compile for preserve as Archive. At present there are 18 leading daily newspapers archive at ALOGHAR which are collected for last 12 years. The interested person, researchers, students are welcome to use this archive.

Aloghar (Pallabi) remains open every day, except Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m for all.
